‘The struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow’
Scarlett entered the rotten building and walked up the large flight of stairs, she walked past a man slouched, his head in his hands on the staircase comatosed. He looked up and grumbled. Scarlett continued walking up the stairs as She bumped into a young women with a cigarette in her hand & unkempt hair, wearing a unbuttoned blouse, laddered stockings and a tight white skirt that had yellow stains on it with patches of black.
Vick: Hey gorgeous, fancy some of this for cheap prices.
Vick flashed her short skirt a little higher. Scarlett screwed up her face.
Scarlett: No thanks.
She pushed past the filthy women. Heading up the last flight of stairs as her foot fell through the hole in the staircase, causing her to trip. There were 3 missing planks as Scarlett hopped over it making her way up the stairs.
Scarlett: Anywhere is better than that hell hole of a father's house!
Scarlett thought.
She made it to the door of the small apartment. The wooden door rotting and bolts rusting. Scarlett turned the key as the door creaked open revealing a empty room with mold spores on the walls, condensation on the window and a small mattress on the floor with a thin blanket and a straw pillow. Scarlett flopped onto the mattress and let out a loud sigh. Gently stroking the necklace that hung around her neck. She closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Scarlett opened her eyes to see a silhouette of a tall large man stood before her. He grappled her neck and held her against the wall squeezing her neck tighter. Scarlett was gasping for breath as her face went purple.
Dad: Hi Scarlett. Daddy's home. And sweetie you certainly won't be killing me first, quite clearly won't be.
Scarlett inhaled little air she could breathe.
Scarlett: Dan, let me go.
Her face turning purple as she gasped for air, she could feel her body getting weaker whilst she inhaled no further air.
Dad: Scarlett, you were always already dead to me.
A tear dropped from Scarlett's eye glistening on the floor.
Scarlett woke in shock covered in cold sweat, her pillow was damp from the tears. She'd had another nightmare of that monster. After all these years he still haunts her in her dreams.
She stood up, brushed herself off and headed for a cold shower. Stepping out of the shower wrapping the towel around her body. She washed her face and stared directly to the reflection in the mirror.
Scarlett: You are strong, you can do this.
She thought. As she stepped into the room she felt a silhouette stood behind her, she spun around and smacked the person in the face.
Neil: Ow! Scarlett do you greet all your guests like that!?
Scarlett stood frowning at the annoyingly cocky man before her.
Scarlett: Not when they're invited I don't!
Scarlett hissed.
Neil raised his eyebrow and stared at Scarlett from head to toe.
Neil: Well with you dressed like that I'm glad I wasn't invited.
Scarlett: Well sugar, this is the last time you'll see my like this.
She walked into the bathroom and put on her leggings, a red and black checked shirt with her combat boots. Neil pushed the door open a crack watching as Scarlett pulled her leggings over her hips.
Scarlett turned towards Neil and raised her eyebrow.
Scarlett: Neil, seriously?
Neil gasped as he realised Scarlett had noticed him.
Neil: ermm…
He looked to the ground.
Neil: Sorry Scarlett.
Scarlett smirked and she sat down on the floor, her body pressed against the wall.
To be quite honest she enjoyed the attention, she enjoyed feeling desirable.
Neil: So Scarlett do you feel ready for your first match?
Scarlett: Neil I'm more than ready, more importantly those skanks better be ready!
Neil smirked confidently.
Neil: So how do you feel about going against Samantha this Tuesday?
Scarlett: Honestly? Fine, I've been in this company for less than a week and already I've been turning heads. I maybe just starting out but this Samantha girl?, she got beat by a girl who speaks to teddy bears, doesn't that say something?
Neil: Confident, I like it.
Neil winked at Scarlett as she rolled her eyes.
Neil: So what do you know about Samantha?
Scarlett: I know she's heartbroken, I know her girlfriend has replaced her for a better fuck, good on her. That's all I can say. But I do know one thing, when you're mind is elsewhere you are not focused and when you're not focused you don't perform as well, You're going down Sammy, sweetie.
Neil: Ouch, that's gotta hurt. How about the other girl, Katie is it?
Scarlett: Well Katie, what can I say about her? She's weak. The mere fact that she thinks she's one of the best stars in the industry is actually a joke. Her numerous failed attempts to big herself up was a complete joke. She's nothing but an uptight insecure doubtful little bitch. She should be thankful that Ana has even signed her up! I mean so far she hasn't even done shit to make me think she deserves a place in our roster. She's a pathetic waste of space and this Tuesday, she will be beaten by a rookie and be seen for just how much of a joke she truly is.
Neil: Nice Scarlett. So you wanna go grab a coffee?
Scarlett: No, let's head to the gym to train. I need all the training a girl can get.
She laughed jokingly.
Neil smiled back at her as they headed out the door, locking it behind them.
