So, what did everyone think?. I thought it was an injury plagued show that in some parts over achieved and completely failed in others with some crazy booking. I will elaborate once the discussion starts going
I didn't catch it, but I read the results and half paid attention to the following Raw.
Like most WMs, the Raw after took those events and kicked them out the window. The largest exception seems to be the Women's division, which I'm so happy to see has been fired up recently. Expanding on that, I just want to say that I am, and have never been, impressed with Sasha Banks. I have, however, been very impressed by Becky Lynch and I hope she gets pushed like they are pushing Charlotte, who's relying a little bit too much on her father and not just in her matches, but as a showpiece. The Total Divas versus BAD and Blonde was clearly filler and doesn't deserve much mention. I'll say this though, Emma works the mic well as a heel.
New Day versus League of Nations is the one match I regretted missing. All those guys, with the exception of Xavier Woods, could do main event status and many have. Dean vs Brock I hear was as vicious as advertised. I hope that they truly let both off their leashes. It wouldn't be worth much to do any less. Bunch of legends appear (The Rock with a flamethrower? HELLO!) but no real impression is left.
The unfortunate truth though is that their headliner matches (Shane/Taker, HHH/Reigns) fell flat by all accounts. Shane leapt off the top of a cell? He jumped off the Tron back in the day! Oh and Mick Foley has been tossed from the top how many times? Reigns finishes it with a spear? Boring. Btw, anyone else noticing they are doing to Reigns what they did to Cena(three move pony)?
The replacing of the stupid purple butterfly belt with a feminine version of the WWE title filled me with joy, if they really do build the womens division then it will be worth it. The womens division should be run as a fullk blown parallel to the normal one. That's why in alot of feds people wityh female characters want to be involved vs males because in wwe and other companys the women have always been an after thought, we wanted to change that in VWS and have the womens version of the belt mean just as much as the mens, hence why gina and trixie are the main event.
I disliked the rock seg, sure he came out and gushed about the new record but did we really need the wyatts to get buried AGAIN?..and please don't tell me they weren't they got fucking buried. And also did we really need John Cena to appear?..he wasn't advertised and it still wasn't a shock..a shock would of been staying the fuck out!
And as for the ME, god I hated that decision, the match was solid but Reigns is supposed to be the baby face and HHH was the one who got cheered (and his entrance was a;ll sorts of epic) but it seems like with AJ Styles being ther number one contendert theyare going to turn Reigns (see smackdown)
I particularly enjoyed seeing the new belt for the Women's Championship. It was long overdue; I just hope the WWE follows it up by actually making the women's division matter. I'll definitely give them a lot of credit thus far for putting effort into it again.
Considering all the injuries they had, I think they did really well at WrestleMania. I particularly enjoyed Shane vs Taker; I thought the Ambrose vs Lesnar match should have gone on a bit longer but it was good. I would have preferred to see Ambrose take the win there but alas. The Intercontinental Title match was awesome but it's too bad that its awesomeness was annulled one night later (that's a whole other story). I enjoyed the Rock and Cena segment actually and I'm not all that much of a Wyatt Family fan because all they do is talk about a bunch of incomprehensible babble that goes nowhere. I don't necessarily blame them, I blame the bad creative but talking about that could be a thread unto itself.
I still don't get the whole hatred against Roman Reigns or why he is so booed ... stupid fans. Oh well, regardless the match was alright, Triple H's entrance was epic to say the least. Seeing Triple H in the main event in 2016 though ... I can't help but think back to CM Punk's pipebomb in 2011 when he said "This company's gonna get taken over by his idiotic daughter and doofus son in law." I guess he told us so. Mind you, I'm not criticizing Triple H in the sense that he hasn't earned his stripes but at this point in the game, they really need to elevate new stars and stop relying so much on the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era favorites because they're only getting older day by day and they're going to run out of steam sooner than later. I haven't seen this much reliance on past talent in WWE ever until this new era.
